Notes:
1. A light that can be hung up inside your camp tent. Our troop does not use lanterns in camp. A flashlight can be awkward when you are in your tent so a small, lightweight light that can be hung up is good.
2. Clothespins are very useful for hanging things up, sealing chip bags and clamping things down.
3. You can laminate duty rosters and other items for the Troop bulletin board.
4. A hanging kit is a shaving kit that can be hung up in the shower. Having one with a hook in the top can be very useful.
5. Plastic hangers for hanging up your uniform in your tent.
6. Boy Scout Handbook, Scoutmaster Handbook, Field Book, nature books, craft books, and general reading material.
7. Every year there are one or two troops at camp that carry little baskets or holders with assorted seasonings for the dinner meal. Salt, pepper, Tabasco Sauce, hot sauce, Cajun sauce, etc.

Larry,
Good list! A couple additions-
– A coffee pot and small stove or pocket rocket so I can have a cup’o’joe before heading down to the dining hall in the morning
– Crossword puzzles from newspapers saved from the last week or two. Once I’ve solved the puzzles, they can be used to help the fire get going.
– A small folding camp table for beside my cot
– Hand sanitizer to go with the liquid hand soap
– Extra blue cards
– Don’t forget your OA sash!
Hi Guys
I am certainly in favor of listing things to take to camp here, but my list was intended to be those items that you don’t usually take on a weekend campout and might not be on your normal camping list. Things like a hammer and nails for tightening up tents on tent platforms.
Some of the items might be crossover items like First Aid Kits and Tarps, although you might take a different, larger First Aid Kit to summer camp than you normally put in your weekend gear. Same thing for a tarp, the one you take to camp might be larger or heavier plastic. Just adding some ideas and thoughts to your list.
One other thing I take to Summer Camp is a stack of Popular Science and Popular Mechanics magazines. I put them out on the picnic table and they are out there all week. They usually get very well used. Have fun at camp this summer!
Great list Larry!
Might I offer a couple of additions
Bug spray
Mosquito netting (regional) for cot
Sunburn spray or gell
The “Khyber Pass”
