Awesome interview. I wish you could have kept talking. The 12 year old comment is so true (I would say that 12 years old is probably too old for me!!!) .I have to be honest I think I have more fun than the boys do sometimes!!
Thanks Clark!

I stop by for a visit and everything has changed again. This place is daunting (at least for an old guy 🙂 ) There are so many things going here I hardly know where to start looking. Seems like you are doing ok, Clarke. Good job.
I haven’t thought much about Scouts the past few months. Helped a guy with Camping MB awhile back. Good kid. Fun. Just been working and chasing the grand children around. Posted something over at Mr. Blather’s site but that’s about it. Glad to see that you are doing well and SMCG is prospering!
Thanks Clark for the interview with Darnall!
I was a scouter in Hawk Mountain Council before relocating to the wilds of North Carolina a few years back, and the interview brought back some memories of Dick Bennett and Darnall.

Another fantastic podcast into the record book, thanks Clarke.
I had the privilege of meeting Darnell when I took my troop to his council’s Resident Camp at Hawk Mountain. He made a personal effort to talk to each and every adult leader that week and as many scouts as time permitted. He is a very open and humble person, and I purchased and read his book at camp that week. All this happened during my . pre-“Scoutmastercg.com” scouting days ;-).
Great topic and interview, especially the quotes “No man matures past age 12” and your term “cane waving old age complaining scouters” with “in scouting age can cuts both ways”… as I hit my mid-50’s… because this is so true among my peers in scouting as I muddle forward into different District roles. I always found those 12 year olds more interesting anyway!
