900 and Counting
Blogging and statistics; it’s easy to get the cart before the horse. When I started this blog a little more than three years ago I was much more interested in statistics than I am now. Now I am reasonably sure that I have actual readers and am not just writing off into the void somewhere.
I note that the most recent post was my 900th (give or take a few because I think the counter on my Typepad account registers unpublished drafts too.) These posts have garnered just over 700 comments.
Feedburner tells me I have 143 readers (although I am not really sure what this means).
Typepad also reports I get an average of around 500 page views a day with a total of three quarters of a million (!) over the last three years. The Scoutmaster Blog Facebook Page has 231 fans and I have 83 followers on Twitter I say all this for two reasons – I am reasonably proud that people want to read what I have to say. This is a pretty big deal for someone who can talk the legs off an iron pot. (My wife and several good friends would add ‘please don’t encourage him’.) I am very appreciative of your readership and the occasional dialog.
Thank you. If you have bothered to read this far I wonder if anyone out there would be interested in my doing a podcast?
I listen to a number of podcasts unrelated to Scouting.
I also listen to a couple of Scouting podcasts and think I may be able to produce a reasonably interesting program. Any thoughts?
