- Great information, food for thoughtby Drawsolderprintplay from United States
I've been a fan of Clarke's blog for years, and the podcast adds some Scouting to my morning commute. His topics are applicable to me on the other side of the world, and the frequent interview guests bring perspective to the worldwide brother(and sister)hood of Scouting

Clarke is serving us all well by advocating for the Scouting Program in a simplified and funny way that makes it easy to understand. If you are an adult involved at the Troop level in Boy Scouts, you should be listening to this podcast!
- A fantastic resource for Scoutersby Mike.Stock from United States
I've been listening to Clarke's podcasts since my son crossed over four years ago. Since then, my son has become the SPL and I've become the Scoutmaster. Clarke's information and insight have made me a better leader and have had an extremely positive effect on how our troop operates. I can't overstate just how great a resource this is! We're better Scouters and a better troop because of this podcast. If you want a great source of information on how Scouting is supposed to be done, then look no further. - Great information for new scout leadersby 90's child from United States
When my son crossed over from cub scouts to boy scouts, I was asked to be an Asst. Scoutmaster. I was never involved in scouting in my youth, so all I knew was what I've experienced with my son as a cub. This podcast (and a few others) have been such a help in understanding the how a troop is to run and most importantly, it's the boys that run the troop, not the adults. Clark is great at discussing a nice variety of topics and has other scout leaders join his conversation so that you get multiple opinions on how to handle a situation or ideas for the program. I look forward to every podcast and feel motivated to do more in scouting at the end of each show.
- Great resource for the scouterby Ibeplato from United States
As an ASM for a brand new troop with 15 former Webelos, I've found this podcast to be a fantastic resource for helping me make the transition from cub to boy scouts. Episodes are full of useful tips and information that has helped me in my role. Thanks Clark.
- Short, sweet and to the point.by Souliere from United States
Nice podcast. Very focused on the topic of Boy Scouts. Generally short and to the point. Enhanced with Musical intros etc, so you can "hear" where you are. Excellent sound quality. I even find myself looking forward to the bad joke in the intro.
- Great Podcast/Great hostby TC in Ohio from United States
Scoutmastercg is like a compass for the scouter. Clarke points you in the right direction but doesn't tell you how you have to go. That part is up to you. Clarke's easy manner and melodious voice make listening to the podcast both informative and relaxing. The bad jokes and puns keep are awesome.
- Great resource for any Scouter!by tommcd24 from United States
A friend told me about this podcast a few months back and I've listened to every podcast since. It has been a great resource as I've just transitioned from Cub Scouts up to Boy Scouts with my son. Great wealth of information and look forward to each new episode. Here's hoping there is an episode regarding the PLC in the near future! Our Troop is young and has been adult-led for several years and we'll will be working back towards a youth-led Troop. Keep up the great work!
- A Great Resourceby Jonmoney from United States
I just found the podcast a few weeks ago and I'm hooked. I was my son's den leader for five years and he just transitioned to a Boy Scout troop. I've felt a little lost navigating this brave new world and this podcast is just what I needed. Segments are topical and upbeat with no slant or negativity. They are filled with pearls of wisdom and keep giving me new things to think about. The website is also a wealth of information and a great resource. Keep 'em coming! I'm also a district training chair and I will add this to my list of useful web resources I hand out at trainings.

- Give Me Strength!by longtimescouter from United States
Great Podcast Clarke! You offer great lessons and experiences that make my job a lot easier. You've given me the confidence to lead a contingent to the 2013 National Jamboree! Not sure what I've signed up for, but I'm really looking forward to the experience. Any further guidance on how to plan for this event? We're planning several unit meetings with our newly assembled Troop and would appreciate any thoughts on logistics.

I eagerly await each new podcast. Helpful and insightful information from someone who has been in the program for 25 years. It doesnt get better than this.
- Great podcast!by wfkeagle09 from United States
I've been a Scout since was 7, I'm now an Assistant Scoutmaster (completing the circle). I can relate to many of the things discussed in Mr. Greene's podcast (for example, things the boys plan, but don't get organized enough to do..... relying on Scoutmasters to do everything....). Mr. Greene offers great advice on how to deal with issues such as those previously mentioned, in a positive encouraging way that allows the boys to learn from their mistakes and successes. My only issue with the podcast is that I can't find the older podcasts (I just started listening recently), anyone know how I can find them?

Scoutmaster Clarke Green's weekly podcast will keep you inspired and informed about traditional and practical Scouting. He presents ways that your troop can fulfill the ideals of Scouting and helping you to understand why, along with a good dose of fun and adventure. It's the best-produced and most listenable Scouting podcast.

- Best Scoutmaster Podcast I've Heardby teambeck from United States
As a new Scoutmaster, this podcast has helped me accelerate my learning and have fun along the way. I enjoy the jokes (but I'm a Scoutmaster so that probably explains it. :-)), the music, and the variety of topics that range from BSA history to the methods of Scouting to camping to teaching Scouts to interviews of authors, etc. If you want to enjoy a short 25-ish minute podcast, learn something, and even be challenged, this is the podcast for you.
- This is the Scouting Podcast to sign up for!by Thundering Thor from United States

- Best Resource for a Scoutmaster I've foundby sk8erbryan from United States
I'm a new assistant scoutmaster and did scouting myself as a boy. I've been searching the internet for any help or resources to help me guide our new troop and this nails it perfectly. Tons of great information and from what I've seen the perspective is dead on. I'm looking forward to learning more from the site and from further podcasts. Thank you for your work and sharing it with us.
- Awesome, Terrificby Disciple of Green from United States
This is as helpful as any scouting podcast could be. I'm a Comm. Chair and Unit Comm. and find the jokes entertaining(still thinking about that penquin) . Every episode contains useful information for all scouters. Scoutmastership in 7 min or (more) a great tool for all scoutmasters. Only complaint I have is there's only one a week. Clarke Green knows his scouting and it shows. I use the info. in these podcasts to help guide scouters all the time. If you're looking for inspiration or direction for leading your troop look no further. Thanks Clarke and keep up the good work,
- Quality Podcast !!!by Scoutmaster Jim Memphis from United States
I find it hard to wait for Clarke's next podcast. The format is so easy to listen to. All of his podcasts are an uplifting time to my day. His coverage of Scouting topics is well centered and very objective. Although his jokes are not world class comedy, his Scouting advice is nothing short of amazing. - Scouting in actionby tonyrotzoll from United States
I have not met Clarke, but he is obviously doing exactly what scouting professes. He learned and lived in Scouting and is voluntarily giving back. In this case, to current and future leaders. Light hearted podcasts that acutely point to the background philosophy and methods of Scouting. Stories and interviews and examples that are continuing examples of why the Scouting program is still spot on after 100 years. Please keep them coming

This is another podcast that I listen to right when it comes out. I am a Cubmaster and it is great information to learn about. Running any unit correctly starts with those towards the top. The information provided is priceless. The other great thing about this podcast is the jokes. Those are the greatest jokes!

Mr. Green has 25 years of Scoutmaster experience, and it shows. As a soon-to-be-Scoutmaster, this is just the kind of thoughtful discussion I was looking for. Very well produced, very thoughtful, and all about the boys (as it should be). Thanks, Mr. Green!!

Keep up the good work. Wish my son had a Scout Master like Clarke. I’ve learned a lot.
- Outstanding podcast!by Cwbaran413 from United States
These podcasts are great, I have moved up with my youngest son after being the CM of a Cub Pack for 4 years. I am looking forward to being back to the Scout Troop. Your podcasts make my 45 minute commute more enjoyable. I am working my way through the archive. It was a tremendous help when I lead our first meeting with new scouts, the SM was away on vacation and the SPL was not used to leading younger scouts. Of course only half of the new scouts showed up due to sports conflicts. Instead of forming 2 patrols we started with one and we will form the second at the next meeting. We let the scouts form the patrol and elect the PL as they wanted, we are on our way to Boy Lead.

- Great Info!by pittstl from United States
I have been listening to the podcast for a couple of months now since my son crossed over to Boy Scouts. I had no intention of becoming a Scout Leader but was asked to become an Asst. Scout Master 2 weeks ago. I am armed with knowledge of many Scout Masters because of this podcast and Clarke has a great delivery. Keep fighting the good fight guys!
- Boy Scout Guru for the 21st Centuryby Mikemenn from United States
First there was Baden Powell. Then game William "Green Bar Bill" Hillcourt. Now we have Clarke Green as this century's Scouting Philosopher. He "gets" the Scouting program and relates it in a fun (and serious) way to those wanting to know more. A MUST for all Scout Leaders and parents of Scouts.
- Educational, Inspirational and Motivationalby Liberty Bill from United States
I first learned about this podcast, the blog, etc. a few months ago. I am hopelessly addicted. I became a new Scoutmaster about 9 months ago and the former SM had just competed his Woodbadge ticket and one of his projects was the Scout-led troop. He wanted to change the troop from a weekly series of merit badge classes taught by adults, focused on advancement and recognition to a truly scout-led troop. We weren't sure this would work. We tried to train our SPL how to run the troop meetings, plan campouuts, etc. and he was a very quick learner. But, I had so many questions. When I read one of the blog posts on "What I Wish Every Scout Parent Understood," I was fascinated. This guy sounds like he really knows what he is talking about but doesn't sound arrogant or like a "know-it-all." In fact, the more I read and listen, I love his attitude and perspective on scouting in general. Every time I learn something (which is every podcast and article I read even though I have gone back to the beginning and listened to the first 50 podcasts and am going strong), I feel such a great relief to know I don't have to do it all myself. The most amazing part about this is, it really works! It is so much more fun to watch the scouts make their own plans, decide what they are going to do, deal with the problems that come up, etc. And what I have learned is, they are better at it than I ever was, by far. I used to spend so much time trying to plan fun, exciting, educational things that would be just right for the scouts. I worried every week about whether the scouts would enjoy what we adults had planned, how many would show up, etc. Now, I feel like I am liberated! I usually don't even know exactly what is going to happen next, but I have developed confidence in our scouts that they have a great plan that the other scouts will like much more than what the adults would have planned and it is a joy to watch them learn from each other and progress. I can't give Clarke Green 100% of the credit for our progress, but he has been a major factor in shaping what we are doing now and is my most significant mentor, even though I have never met the guy in person. We have a small troop, with 8-10 attending regularly in the past. Last troop meeting we had 20 scouts in attendance and almost all were in nearly full uniform (unheard of in the past). It was a bit chaotic and rambunctious, but what a thrill to watch the scouts interact as if there were no adults present. One of our PLs taught the skills instruction on winter camping, patrol meetings consisted of the patrold making large "Get well" cards for a former ASM who we sorely miss, then a game of catpure the flag oustide. The adults don't say anything anymore in our troop meetings except for a SM minute. PLC is run by the scouts, sometimes held away from troop meetings at the SPL's house, with no adult leaders present. When I started going back to the early podcasts, I assumed after a few, it would be very repetitive and I would have absorbed all Clarke had to offer. To the contrary, he has so much depth and so many insights that there is no repetition. His focus is on the scout led troop and I don't know how he does it, but I have listened to over 50 podcasts and listening to Clarke is one of my favorite parts of each day. My highest rating for this podcast and what Clarke is doing for scouting and - most importantly - for the scouts!
