This should be fun!
This week there’s no deep dive into policies, no procedural advice or philosophizing, just a conversation with two of my old Eagle Scouts who headed out for a hike last week. Bucky Kellorg and Wade Bastian join me from their “zero day” about fifty miles into a 2000 mile quest to reach the end of the Appalachian trail on Mt. Katahdin in Maine.
Hear an unvarnished account of their first backpacking trip and how it relates to their present challenge. I hope you have as much fun listening as I did talking to them!

I was a Scoutmaster for 26 years and hiked the AT in N GA many times, passing many thru hikers. I hung up my uniform at the end of 2012 and my 23 year old daughter and I thru hiked the AT in 2014. My Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster skills paid off on my great experience along that AT.
I love the regular format and what I learned so much from the podcast, that I was at 1st disappointed thinking I would not get as much out of this one because it would not learn anything. Listening to the stories, the laughter, the lessons learned, resonated so much and inspired me to want to go out and do some backpacking and motivate our PLC to do the same. Thank you for this extra special podcast.
We are putting our son and Eagle Scout on the trail today! We hiked the mile to Springer Mtn. summit yesterday, and today he is settingoing out for Maine. Maybe he’ll see your Eagles along the way too. 🙂 #Finding Nemo #NemoAT17
