Scouts who have earned Eagle during my tenure as Scoutmaster receive a custom engraved Buck knife. I take the knife to an engraver in our mall called “Things Remembered”. I buy the Buck 110 lock-back because the bolsters are flat brass (not curved like others) and this makes them suitable for engraving..
When I first started doing this the Buck knife 110 was about $20 but they are up to $35 or more now. The engraving is an additional $25. One side has an eagle on one end and the Scouts initials on the other ; the other side has “BSA” on one end and the Troop number on the other. I’ve given out about 40 of these the past 25 years.
The images that you see here are of a Buck knife that I will present at the end of July. I’m no longer Scoutmaster of Troop 720, but I was his Scoutmaster for three years when this Scout was senior patrol leader twice and a key leader in the Troop.

Wow. That’s a great idea about contacting Buck directly. I never would have thought of trying that. Thanks for the idea!
I was scrambeling for an Idea and went to a local coin store. They sold one ounce silver coins with the American Eagle for around $50. The Eagle Scout who we gave it to told me it was the most thoughtful thing.
To date I have had the honor and blessing of presenting 5 Commemorative Eagle Scout Knifes with the Eagle Scouts Name, an Eagle Logo, Troop number, and Board of Review Date engraved on the knife. Ms. Karen Cook (kcook@buckknives.com) has always been able to insure delivery in a timely manner.
I think you can buy a special commemorative Model 500 directly from Buck for about $42 including engraving and S & H. It has nickle bolsters that are engraved with scout’s name, Eagle BOR date, and troop number. The 4th bolster has an engraved Eagle Scout emblem. Contact Buck directly. Last info I had is:
