We recently ordered new custom neckerchiefs and patches for our Troop and Crew, and I wanted to share two sources that I can highly recommend to Scouters looking for custom neckerchiefs or patches.
(Please note that these companies are not advertisers or affiliates with Scoutmastercg.com. I approached them as any customer would. I did not receive any special deals or treatment in exchange for this review.)
Just Neckers
Our previous supplier no longer offered the plaid neckerchiefs we had ordered from them for several years. I went searching for a company that could offer a high-quality neckerchief at a reasonable cost and spoke with the folks at “Just Neckers”. They were very helpful and responsive to my questions and shipped our order in time for an event we had planned. They produce an excellent quality product at a great price, and offer excellent service.
Just Neckers offers several different sizes and a number of design options:
The online design tool is very helpful and provides a downloadable PDF of the design. We wanted a coordinated design for our Troop and Crew, so we chose a burgundy field with green boarder for the Troop and added a gold border for the crew.

Artex Group
I’ve been very pleased with both the quality the patches and the level of service I’ve received from Artex. I’ve ordered several patches from them over the past three or four years. If you look around on the web you’ll find many custom patch suppliers with set prices based on the size, number of colors, percentage of embroidery, and quantity of the patches you order. Artex quotes each job individually and, in my experience, offers a significantly lower price than I’ve found elsewhere.
After I send in a design via email they return a proof or “stitch out” (a scan of the actual patch) within a few days. Once I have approved the proof they manufacture and ship the completed patches shortly thereafter.
As an example I submitted this design,
Here’s the “stitch out” I received
Here’s a picture of the neckerchiefs with patches attached. We used Thermoweb Peel’n Stick Fabric Fuse
to put the patches on the neckerchiefs, so far so good, they may need some sewing, we’ll see.
Here’s how the neckerchiefs and patches are given to our Scouts and Ventures :
Thanks for your support. We take pride in our quality and service and pay attention to every detail. We would like to hear how you like our patches. Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/artexcustompatches and spread the word!
I just ordered patches from Artex. I have not received the final patches yet, but have been very pleased with the interactions so far
I’ll have to check out just neckerchiefs.
